Lenovo T60

Technology is changing fast; laptops are overtaking PCs as the computing gadgets of choice. Their portability and aesthetic value has fueled the use of laptops the world over. The huge demand for laptops has seen the variety of models in the market increase immensely to meet the different tastes and needs of consumers. IBM is an information technology company that specializes in the production of computers and other technological gadgets for business. The Lenovo T60 is part of the IBM T series models that have been a major hit with consumers. What makes the T60 such a successful brand in a world of cutthroat competition?

The Lenovo T60 is most popular in the corporate world. It has a professional look and unlike other brands, it is portable, hence making for a great notebook. First produced in the year 2006, the T60 has an Intel Core Dual Processor with a speed of about 2.2 gigahertz.  The computer is not only pleasing to the eye on the outside but its graphics are just as incredible. With a resolution of about 1400×1050 SXGA and an LCD screen with an aspect ratio of 14.1, the T60 provides perfect graphics even for PC gamers. Storage wise, the Lenovo T60 does not compete well with other brands; the memory drive can only accommodate a paltry 120 gigabytes.

The Random Access Memory (RAM), however, does not disappoint. The Lenovo T60 is manufactured with 1 gigabyte of RAM, which can be increased up to 4. Just to create some variety, the T60 comes in either a 14.1-inch screen or a 15-inch screen; both models have the same features. The major disadvantage of the T60, however, is its power storage capacity. The whole concept of a laptop is largely based on its portability so as to be carried easily from one place to another. The T60 battery can only last for a dismal 4 hours. You, therefore, cannot use your laptop for 4 hours without plugging in. This is a great limitation to its functionality, especially in areas without electricity.

Battery issues aside, the Lenovo T60 also does not come with a DVD burner and lacks fire wire. It, however, has a CD/DVD combo drive. The lack of a DVD burner may be justified since IBM products are produced for the corporate niche and not primarily as an entertainment gadget. Wireless network access is available through wireless adapters and Bluetooth. Apart from the three USB slots, modem, microphone, Ethernet and audio line ports are also available. The quality that makes the T60 a great business machine, however, is that it excels in security. Apart from the usual start up password, it incorporates a unique finger print scanner that identifies its owner, hence, guaranteeing maximum security at all times.

Even though the Lenovo T60 does not have a DVD burner, has a small memory capacity and low power storage capabilities, it is a great laptop manufactured with the businessperson in mind. If the T60 does not meet your expectation, there is good news for you. The IBM T series does not end with the T60; other T400 and T500 models are also available.
